FC Barcelona and TK Elevator (TKE) have signed a sponsorship agreement under which TKE becomes an official provider for the Espai Barça project for the next five seasons, until June 30, 2029. As part of this new partnership, FC Barcelona and TKE will work together to incorporate 69 state-of-the-art elevators and 78 escalators into the new stadium. Huntington-headquartered Jensten, a fast-growing U.K. insurance broker, on April 24 announced its intention to acquire lift and escalator specialist broker Robert Gerrard & Co Ltd, based in London. Subject to regulatory approval, the deal will incorporate 19 employees and an office in Chingford. These brakes are designed to apply when unintended travel of the car occurs. Hilliard offers a friction disc plate-style brake that attaches to the drive shaft of the pulley and a caliper-style that acts on a ring attached to the pulley. These brakes are an alternative to a rope gripper when performing a modernization job which requires lifting or moving a drive or extra construction to the elevator. Draka EHC, a division of Prysmian Group, has announced the relocation and expansion of its Regional Distribution Center (RDC) in Chicago, Illinois, shifting supply and service operations to its new RDC in Lebanon, Indiana, effective April 29. Otis tells ELEVATOR WORLD it provided a three-elevator system to The Rockwell, a new 13-story residential building at 2688 Broadway on Manhattan's Upper West Side.
