For its quarterly meeting, the Elevator Association of Florida (EAOF) will join the International Association of Elevator Consultants (IAEC) for the IAEC Forum 2026 in Orlando, Florida, on May 5-7, "bringing additional regional leaders and industry professionals to this year's Forum," IAEC announced. Registration is now open for the IAEC Forum 2026, which will bring together consultants, manufacturers, service providers and industry partners for three days of education, collaboration, connection and QEI continuing-education credits. Participation in the IAEC Forum Vendor Showcase is available through sponsorship packages that include vendor table opportunities at designated sponsorship levels. The venue for this year's Forum is the Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista. Reservations must be booked by April 15 to secure the negotiated rate of US$185 per night.

Hyundai Elevator said it made early payments to ease the financial burden on its partners ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday on February 16-18, Chosun Biz reported. Approximately 280 partner companies, including installers, maintenance providers and parts suppliers for Hyundai Elevator, were eligible. Payments that are usually made at the end of the month will be moved up by more than 10 days. Hyundai Elevator said the decision took into account that partners' funding needs peak before the holiday. Read more here

TÜRKIYE ELEVATOR INDUSTRY RANKS IN ELEVATOR SECTOR REPORT
The 2024 edition of the Elevator Sector Report has been published by the General Directorate of Industry of the Ministry of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Türkiye. The report states that when the global elevator industry's data for 2024 was examined, it reached a volume of US$24.5 billion, with approximately US$12 billion in exports and US$12.5 billion in imports. "Türkiye ranks ninth in exports with US$334 million, accounting for 2.7% of global exports." Major General Mokhtar Abdel Latif, chairperson of the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI), inspected the first production units of the Arab-Swiss Elevator Co. in Madinaty as part of a program to localize elevator manufacturing in Egypt, Daily News Egypt reports. The project is a collaboration between the AOI, Talaat Moustafa Group and Schindler to manufacture, assemble and test elevator components for various real estate and housing projects in the country. The partnership reflects the AOI's strategy to attract investment and enhance cooperation with major Egyptian private sector firms and international companies. The scale of urban development across Egypt provides an opportunity for the domestic industry to compete in meeting the requirements of national projects. The Arab-Swiss Elevator Co. remains committed to the established delivery schedule and all standard environmental and technical specifications, Abdel Latif added.
SCHINDLER EXPECTS U.S. TARIFF HIT TO BE LESS THAN ANTICIPATED
Schindler CEO Paolo Compagna told Reuters the company expects the financial impact of U.S. tariffs to be less than initially feared, although the Swiss lift maker is prepared for "future volatility." Schindler anticipates the annual gross impact of U.S. import duties on its bottom line to be approximately CHF18 million (US$23.5 million), lower than the original estimate of CHF33 million (US$42.9 million) communicated in April 2025. Thousands of pedestrians who traverse the stretch between Bandra Station (East) and Kalanagar Junction on the Western Express Highway in Mumbai, India, are enjoying a safer and smoother commute thanks to a reconstructed skywalk outfitted with two escalators, The Times of India reports. The 680-m elevated link provides easy access to key destinations including the Bandra Kurla Complex, Bandra Court, Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority offices and the District Collector's office. The new escalators support senior citizens, children and parents pushing strollers by reducing physical strain during the long walk. The 5.40-m-wide skywalk also features four staircases for easy entry and 14 new surveillance cameras to enhance safety. Construction was completed on time despite heavy highway traffic, the source said.

CIA BOD ISSUES STATEMENT ON EU CRA
The Board of Directors (BoD) of the nonprofit Nuremberg, Germany-based CAN in Automation (CiA) association on February 12 issued a statement on the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) and its impact on CAN networks including CANopen, the CAN communication platform for elevator control systems. The statement said "products using CAN and placed on the EU market fall under EU CRA unless the relevant cybersecurity aspects are covered by application-specific EU legislation.
