Additionally, the gallery's two passenger elevators also need to be replaced. The freight elevator has been a mainstay at the gallery for more than 50 years and is used to transport art between the vault and the galleries, allowing for the gallery to receive large art of all sizes. It now needs to be replaced, as some of its parts are no longer made.
