Read more here NOR'EASTER FAILS TO STIFLE NEW YORK BUILD 2024 A fast-moving Nor'easter, resulting in NYC's snowiest day in two years, could not stop people from attending the New York Build 2024 Expo on February 11-12 at the Javits Center in Hell's Kitchen, Manhattan. The annual event included more than 400 exhibitors, and many said patron numbers were high, with larger crowds on the second day — Wednesday. In addition to a rich slate of presentations on sustainable construction, navigating code and the regulatory process, safety and much more, AI tools for construction created a big buzz. The university's Board of Trustees approved the projects to take place between 2025 and 2030. Read more here MONTANA COUNTY PURSUING GRANT FOR COURTHOUSE ELEVATOR Lewis and Clark County is pursuing a Montana Historic Preservation Grant application from the state to replace the courthouse's elevator with one that will require less power and bring "significant energy savings," the Independent Record reports. For this project, contractors would replace and expand the existing outdated elevator system servicing the three-story building. Read more here | | ALABAMA ELEVATOR SET FOR REPAIR AFTER MONTHS OF DELAY A contract has been signed and repairs are set to start on an elevator that has been out of operation since summer 2023 at Lowe Mill Arts & Entertainment in Huntsville, Alabama, News 19 reports. The new elevator is expected to retain some of the vintage charm of the old elevator and the rest of Lowe Mill. Read more here MJEE TO PROVIDE 55 VT UNITS TO NEW INDONESIA CAPITAL PT Mitsubishi Jaya Elevator and Escalator (MJEE), the Indonesian division of Mitsubishi Electric Building Solutions Corp., has been selected to provide 55 vertical-transportation (VT) units — 33 elevators and 22 escalators — to Phase 1 of the Indonesia New Capital Relocation Project, MJEE announced on February 26. The national capital is moving from Jakarta to a new city called Nusantara on the east coast of the island of Borneo. The fire took hold in an elevator control room located at the top of the iconic structure. Faced with non-operational elevators upon arrival, fire personnel climbed 90 flights of stairs to put out the flames. There were no injuries or damage to the landmark.
