We are seeking submissions of projects featuring vertical, horizontal or inclined transportation systems with an innovative design, special application or approach that solved a major problem or overcame a unique challenge. Projects will be judged on innovation, originality and creativity, challenges overcome, installation methods and techniques and use of advanced technology, as well as overall quality of presentation. Read more here. | | | OTIS UK SELLS LIFTEC EXPRESS TO RCAPITAL PARTNERS | | | Otis UK announced on June 2 the sale of its 100% shareholding in Liftec Express Ltd. to Rcapital Partners LLP. DC Advisory advised Otis on the transaction, the terms of which were not disclosed. Liftec Express is a U.K. entity that resulted from the acquisition by Otis of five independent lift service providers over the past 25 years. DC Advisory said it leveraged its deep knowledge in the industrial sector and experience in the lift maintenance sector to prepare sales materials and negotiate key commercial terms alongside legal counsel. The transaction, according to DC Advisory, further strengthens its relationship with Otis, having previously advised on its divestment of its Republic of Ireland businesses. Otis Vice President and General Manager UK & Nordics Aleš Korotvička said the sale will allow Otis UK to concentrate on growth of its core U.K. business and customer service that supports long-term relationships. | | | VFA-INTERLIFT WELCOMES HEMKER AS ACADEMY COORDINATOR | VFA-Interlift e.V. on June 1 welcomed Kristin Hemker as new coordinator of the VFA Academy, supporting further development and supervision of a diverse range of training courses. Read more here. | | | VIENNA PUBLIC TRANSPORT LAUNCHES ELEVATOR CONTROL APP | With the new "Liftboy" app, Wiener Linien, Vienna, Austria's public transport operator, enables the contactless control of its elevators via Bluetooth, Vienna Online reports. This is intended to make boarding easier for people with mobility impairments, according to the company. By the end of 2025, all elevators should have this function. Users can call the elevator via mobile phone from a distance of 10 to 15 m and extend the door opening and closing times of the elevator from 3 to up to 12 s. Read more here. | | | COMPANY CHOSEN TO REPAIR ELEVATORS IN ODESA | The Department of Municipal Economy of the Odesa City Council has selected Steel Made LLC to repair nine elevators in Odesa, Ukraine, through an auction held on May 10, ίntent reports. Steel Made, a company founded by Oleksandr Vasylkov, a resident of Kryvyi Rih, was the only bidder in the auction. If the deal is concluded, Steel Made expects to receive UAH13.2 million (US$320,720).
