What’s your stance on house shoes? We just picked up some little wool slippers and have been wearing them every day this week. They’ve already become one of those small daily rituals we look forward to. They’re the official transition between out there, in the world, and in here, in our world. Kind of like what Thursday does for the weekend. Happy weekend, Dear Riders. What to WatchOnly Murders in the Building is back. Season five. Four episodes out. More dropping every Tuesday. It’s the perfect fall show. One that feels like your favorite sweater. You forget about it during the warmer months, and then you’re delighted when it’s time to pull it back on again.
This Jacket Gets Better with Age[Partner] The Harrington Jacket started on the golf course in the early 1900s. As rain gear built to move. But once James Dean and a few U.S. Presidents wore it, the Harrington became a style icon. Flint and Tinder’s version honors the original with some sharp upgrades. A soft microflannel lining, raglan sleeves, and Halley Stevensons’ waxed cotton (milled in Scotland since 1864.) Add a corduroy collar and patch pockets, and you’ve got a jacket that dresses up or down with ease. One that looks better and better as it patinas, we might add. What to Eat & DrinkSoup’s still happening. Once one-pot season begins, there’s no slowing it down. This week’s batch was chicken tortilla with spicy peppers, chicken thighs, and all the trappings. Avocado, cilantro, and such. The varsity move? Put your tortilla strips at the bottom of the bowl, add a thin layer of cheese, then ladle in the goods.
What to DoWe’re mountain-bound this weekend for a family get-together. We’ve got the itch to see a bear. Though, if we’re being honest, not sure we actually want to scratch it. So here we are. Existing with the itch, resisting the scratch. Should a bear wander by while we’re peeping leaves from the hot tub at golden hour, so be it. We’ll keep you posted.
