During inter airport Europe 2025 in Munich, Germany, on October 7-9, TKE demonstrated live how MAX Automate controls a real PBB in northern Spain – more than 1,700 km away – in real time. Read more here | | | GREECE MINISTER URGES CITIZENS TO COMPLETE ELEVATOR REGISTRY | | | Greece Development Minister Takis Theodorikakos has called on citizens to participate in the national elevator census, describing it as "an important process for everyone's safety," ekathimerini.com reports. The registration process is mandatory, free of charge and available online until November 30. Each elevator entered into the system will receive a unique registration number, required for legal and safe operation. Information needed for registration is the year of installation, number of stops, operating status, certification and property registration number. Read more here | | | OTIS UZBEKISTAN DISTRIBUTOR SECURES 35-UNIT CONTRACT | | | Otis' distributor for Uzbekistan, Expert Elevator System, has secured a contract to supply and install 29 Gen2® elevators and six Link escalators for the mixed-use Centris Towers in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, Otis announced on October 20. The elevators will be equipped with Otis' advanced destination-management system, Compass 360®. A specific height is not available, but renderings show three towers of up to approximately 15 stories atop a multistory podium. Order intake decreased by 3% to SEK1.54 billion (US$1.64 billion), an organic increase of 4%. There were positive contributions from the Construction and Industrial (which includes rack-and-pinion elevators) divisions, while the Façade Access division reported a lower order intake. Read more here | | | NORDIC LIFT EXPO 2026 ALREADY GENERATING MASSIVE INTEREST | The latest iteration of the Nordic Lift Expo, planned on November 10, 2026, at Scandic Infra City in Stockholm, Sweden, is already generating massive interest with nearly 70% of exhibition space booked more than a year in advance, organizer Oxbridge Live Media reports. Many companies are opting for larger stands, and the exhibition hall is expected to become fully booked in the near future. New in 2026 will be two stations serving coffee and lunch and improvements in hall layout to facilitate traffic flow. Read more here | | | SCHINDLER REFLECTS ON 2025 CHALLENGES, REWARDS | | | In a press release on October 24, Switzerland-headquartered Schindler reflected on the third quarter (3Q) and past nine months of 2025, periods that saw both challenges and rewards. Like fellow OEMs, the company experienced organic growth in modernization and service, while continued headwinds in China stifled new installation growth. In 3Q, Schindler's order intake reached CHF2.63 billion (US$3.30 billion), representing a year-on-year decline of 3.3%. Delorme said he is particularly pleased by the "excellent strides we are making in digitalization," with deployment of productivity-enhancing tools to field service teams. Read more here | | | STRONG SERVICE SALES AND MAINTENANCE FUEL OTIS 3Q EARNINGS | | | On October 29, Otis reported net sales of US$3.7 billion for the third quarter (3Q) 2025, with organic sales up 2% over the previous year. Organic service sales enjoyed 6% growth with strong service operating profit market expansion, increasing midpoint 2025 earnings per share (EPS) outlook for shareholders. The Farmington, Connecticut-based company's "industry leading maintenance portfolio" grew at 4%, said Otis President and CEO Judy Marks. Modernization orders grew 27%, organic modernization orders grew 14% and Otis' repair business performed well, she said.
