HYPERION BRANDS PROVIDE 100,000 MEALS FOR KIDS AND FAMILIES

ACTION ELEVATOR ACQUIRES WASHINGTON, D.C.-BASED ETI
Action Elevator, a leading independent elevator services company in the Mid-Atlantic, has acquired Elevator Technologies, Inc. (ETI), a leading elevator services provider in the Washington, D.C., area, Maven Group, which served as financial advisor to ETI, announced on November 18. ETI has been in operation since 2007, led by founders Chris Myles, Rob Bergen and Mike Coates, with Walt Church joining the ownership group in 2017. All four owners will continue their careers with Action Elevator to ensure a seamless transition for customers and employees. Action Elevator's partnership with partnership with H.I.G. Manhattan-based Dynasty Elevator received the prestigious Manhattan Resident Manager's Club, Inc., 2025 Vendor of the Year Award at the 29th annual Three Hands Ball at the 583 Park Avenue event venue on November 10. "We are truly honored to receive this recognition," Dynasty President John Mezzo said. OTIS UNVEILS URBAN RENEWAL AND ACCESSIBILITY PRODUCTS AT CIIE
Otis unveiled a suite of new products to support urban renewal and accessibility at the eighth China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai on November 5-10. MIPIM COMING TO THE MIDDLE EAST IN 2026
The first edition of MIPIM Middle East is planned on October 20-21, 2026, at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. MIPIM, which stands for Le Marché International des Professionnels de l'Immobilier or The International Market for Property Professionals, is traditionally an annual event held in Cannes, France, in March. The inaugural MIPIM Middle East will serve as "a new hub for global and regional investment, bringing together the international real estate and investment community with key policymakers and project owners from across the Middle East," event organizer RX said. FUJITEC TO PROVIDE NEARLY 700 ELEVATORS FOR INDIA PROJECT
Fujitec has been selected by Indian real estate developer Signature Global to provide 698 elevators for a large-scale residential development in Gurgaon, India, Fujitec announced on November 17. This follows a 538-unit order in 2023 from the developer. The current order, the largest ever for Fujitec India, is "a comprehensive recognition of our strategic reinforcement of production, high-quality products and maintenance services to ensure safety and proven track record in the Indian market," Fujitec stated. SCHINDLER PROVIDING 35 ELEVATORS FOR NYC SKYSCRAPER OVERHAUL
Schindler tells ELEVATOR WORLD it is providing 32 passenger and three service elevators for the News Corp. Building, a 45-story commercial skyscraper at 1211 Avenue of the Americas in Midtown Manhattan, NY, undergoing an extensive US$367-million overhaul designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox (KPF). Developed by RXR, the project will modernize the main entrance to the 1.9 million-ft2 building, headquarters of News Corp. and Fox Corp., New York YIMBY reports. Read more here
 
PACE GROUP ADDS TO BOOK WITH ACQUISITIONS
The U.K.'s Pace Group recently completed the acquisitions of Exel Elevator, The Lift Company and DJ Lifts, Bdaily reports. Exel Elevator is based in Gateshead, U.K., with The Lift Company & DJ Lifts operating from Westerham, in Kent, U.K. The deals were fueled by LDC investment and add to previous moves for firms including Metro Lifts, Elevate UK Lifts and Abacus Elevators made since the private equity operator backed The Pace Group last year. The Pace Group now has 20-plus brands under its umbrella. These recent acquisitions have boosted West Midlands-headquartered Pace Group's national maintenance book to approximately 13,000 units and its customer base to about 5,000. SOUTHWEST ELEVATOR NAMES MITTENTHAL VP OF NATIONAL ACCOUNTS
Southwest Elevator Co., headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas, announced David Mittenthal as its new vice president (VP) of national accounts. Mittenthal brings a depth of industry knowledge, proven leadership and a strategic mindset to his new role, where he will drive growth in new markets Southwest is preparing to launch. With a B.S. from the University of Florida, Mittenthal spent more than 24 years at TK Elevator, where he held roles including national account manager, based in Boston, Massachusetts. CIA CHECKS OUT CANOPEN LIFT PRODUCTS AT INTERLIFT
The Nuremberg, Germany-based nonprofit association CAN in Automation (CiA) had a booth at interlift in Nuremberg in October, and reports that an increasing number of companies presented their CANOpen Lift products there. In addition, a home lift supplier from the U.A.E. shared a system implementing a CiA 417-based control network system using a host controller from Safeline of Sweden and a position unit from Kuebler of Germany. USF STUDENT CENTER TO REPLACE ELEVATORS
The University of South Florida (USF) Marshall Student Center's (MSC) elevators are undergoing complete renovations to solve ongoing issues caused by heavy usage, The Oracle reports. The building's two main elevators have been shut down since August due to "typical" issues that stem from their age: These elevators are nearly two decades old and serve approximately 2.5 million people per year. SCHINDLER PROVIDES NINE VT UNITS FOR NEW ROLEX NYC HQ
Schindler tells ELEVATOR WORLD it provided nine vertical-transportation (VT) units — six passenger and one service elevator, along with two escalators — for the new 28-story Rolex headquarters (HQ) at 665 Fifth Avenue in Midtown Manhattan, NY. New York YIMBY reports that construction is nearing completion on the building, designed by David Chipperfield Architects and developed by the Rolex Realty Co. ahead of anticipated completion in December. Aiming to achieve LEED Platinum certification, the structure features a pleated glass curtain wall and a double-height dining and event space with an adjoining terrace on the top two floors. There will be retail on the first four floors, followed by offices on levels five through 25.
 
UZBEKISTAN MINISTRY DENIES REPORT OF 9,000 FAULTY ELEVATORS
The Uzbekistan Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services has denied reports claiming that more than 9,000 elevators in Tashkent are faulty, UZ Daily reports. According to the ministry, there are 13,798 elevators across the country. In Tashkent alone, 9,144 elevators operate in 3,245 buildings. Of these, 1,835 elevators have exceeded their service life, and their replacement is already underway in accordance with Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 98. Read more here

OTIS INDIA ANNOUNCES "MADE TO MOVE COMMUNITIES" STUDENT CHALLENGE
On November 12, Otis subsidiary Otis India announced the sixth edition of the "Made to Move Communities" student challenge. Indian students will be among more than 200 participants from 18 countries that will collaborate with 150 Otis mentors across the globe to develop AI-led innovations that support their communities after natural disasters. SOVIET-ERA APARTMENTS TO GET ELEVATORS IN TALLINN
Two five-story, Soviet-era apartment buildings in the Estonian capital of Tallinn are set to get new elevators as part of the city's SOFTacademy project, in which property upgrades are financed by residents, loans and project-based support, ERR reports. The EUR832,000 (US$964,005) project includes four elevators, new stairwells added to the fronts of each building and elevator shafts to replace existing staircases. Read more here
 
ONE DEAD, TWO INJURED IN KAZAKHSTAN ELEVATOR COLLAPSE
Police, labor and housing authorities are investigating the cause of an elevator collapse at a residential building in Asana, Kazakhstan, on November 13 that left one elevator maintenance worker dead and two injured, Caliber is among outlets to report. Authorities said that, of the building's 16 elevators, only six had been officially commissioned and that mandatory safety checks had not been completed at the time of the incident. Read more here

2-YEAR-OLD FALLS 6 FT DOWN ELEVATOR SHAFT IN RUSSIA
A 2-year-old boy fell approximately 6 ft down an elevator shaft at a newly constructed residential building in Voronezh, southwestern Russia, on November 8, but the quick thinking of his parents resulted in his suffering only minor injuries, outlets including People report. Security video obtained by the outlet Newsflare shows the family standing together waiting for the elevator to arrive when the child pushes or leans against the closed metal door, which gave way. ESCALATOR FALL IN U.K. RESULTS IN HOSPITALIZATION
A fall down an out-of-order escalator linking a shopping center and a transit hub in South Yorkshire, U.K., on November 10 resulted in the hospitalization of one person, The Star reports. The incident happened only days after safety concerns were raised about litter on the unit — including drink cans and food wrappers — creating tripping hazards. The escalator has been out of service for weeks, but is still available for shoppers to use as stairs. Read more here 
 
UKRAINIAN CITY SET TO OVERHAUL THREE RESIDENTIAL ELEVATORS
Pivdennoukrainsk, Ukraine, has announced plans to overhaul three elevators in a residential building located at 1 Sobornosti Avenue, evidenced by data from the ProZorro electronic procurement system, intent reports. The work is expected to dismantle and replace the electrical wiring, control station, winch and subframe, as well as replace the elevator car, rollers, levers and traction ropes. Additionally, work will include repair of the catcher mechanism, painting of metal surfaces and preparation of the elevators for operation. The Department of Municipal Economy of Odesa City Council earlier held three procurements to select a company to repair several elevators in multi-story buildings in the city. The repair of two elevators in house No. 65 on Kolontaivska Street, one elevator in house No. 5/1 on Yaroslav Baisa (Vysotsky) Street and two elevators in house No. 193 on Balkivska Street. All three tenders were held in the format of open tenders with special conditions.
