Read more here | | | SUBMIT YOUR PROJECT FOR THE EW PROJECT OF THE YEAR AWARD | Submissions are now being accepted for the ELEVATOR WORLD 27th Annual Project of the Year Awards. We are seeking submissions of projects featuring vertical, horizontal or inclined transportation systems with an innovative design, special application or approach that solved a major problem or overcame a unique challenge. Projects will be judged on innovation, originality and creativity, challenges overcome, installation methods and techniques and use of advanced technology and overall quality of presentation. This year's categories are Elevators, New Construction; Elevators, Modernization; Escalators, New Construction; Escalators, Modernization; Moving Walks; Inclined Elevators; Platform Lifts & Stairway Chairlifts; Private-Residence Elevators; and Special-Purpose Lifts. All entries will be judged and categorized as received by an impartial panel of experienced industry experts and professionals. The submission deadline is September 30. | | | LIFTINSTITUUT PRESENTS CERTIFICATE OF COMPLIANCE TO HYDRONIC | | | Liftinstituut recently presented Italy's Hydronic Lift S.p.A with a Certificate of Compliance according to American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) A17.1-2019/CSA B44-19 for its hydraulic buffer. ISO 17025-calibrated measurement devices were used to check the speed and deceleration of the hydraulic buffer during the tests. "M&A is in our DNA," observed Prysmian CEO Massimo Battaini, who on April 18 is set to inherit the role from previous CEO Valerio Battista. Read more here | | | SWECO LANDS EUR6-MILLION DESIGN CONTRACT FOR FINLAND TRAMWAY | Stockholm, Sweden-headquartered Sweco, a leading European engineering and architecture consultancy, announced on April 17 it has been awarded a EUR6-million (US$6.4 million) contract to design the first tramway in the City of Turku, Finland. Including the design of 19 new stations along the 12-km stretch between the city center and the Varissuo area, construction of the tramway is expected to take place from 2026 to 2031. Read more here | | | TKE SIGNS AGREEMENT WITH FC BARCELONA FOR ESPAI BARÇA PROJECT | FC Barcelona and TK Elevator (TKE) have signed a sponsorship agreement under which TKE becomes an official provider for the Espai Barça project for the next five seasons, until June 30, 2029. As part of this new partnership, FC Barcelona and TKE will work together to incorporate 69 state-of-the-art elevators and 78 escalators into the new stadium. By 2025, the digital offering in the lifts will be expanded to 220 hotels in Salzburg, Tyrol and Vorarlberg. Superyacht explorers are capable of reaching remote locations and are loaded with exploration and research gear, along with having fancy amenities that sometimes rival, or even beat, luxury yachts.
