Read more here REGISTRATION NOW OPEN FOR 51ST CECA CONVENTION Registration is now open for Canadian Elevator Contractors Association's (CECA) 51st Convention, hosted by Alcor Elevator, to be held on June 9-12 in Niagara Falls. This year's event includes golf, two days of exhibits, a QEI prep course, additional education, events and more. Bishkek Vice Mayor Ramiz Aliev announced the allocation at a meeting of the Committee on Budget, Economic and Fiscal Policy of the Parliament. Read more here KONE TO PROVIDE ELEVATORS FOR HIGH-RISE MUMBAI COMPLEX KONE announced on January 28 it received an order to provide 21 passenger elevators for Aga Hall Estate in Mumbai, India, which consists of 45- and 56-story towers containing 349 luxury residences. Slated for completion in 2027, Aga Hall Estate will be served by 19 MiniSpaceTM and two MonoSpace® energy-efficient elevators with the KONE Destination Control System. Part of a broader trend in the city center where limited space is driving construction of taller buildings, Aga Hall Estate is being developed by Prince Aly Khan Hospital Charitable Trust. Advertisement | | | MAINTENANCE WORKER RESCUED FROM ELEVATOR IN CALIFORNIA California fire department crews rescued a person stuck in an elevator at a cement plant in the Lebec area on Monday while performing maintenance on it, Bakersfield Now reports. On January 21, there were reports of a person trapped in an elevator. The worker was found on top of an elevator, 20 ft above the ground. Read more here DEADLY APARTMENT FIRE LEAVES ELEVATORS WATERLOGGED Residents of 35 Brock Street, one of the Marina Towers, in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, were without operational elevators for at least 24 h due to a fatal fire that occurred on the morning of January 27, The Public Record (TPR) reports. TPR stated that the building's two elevators were submerged in water after fire suppression operations flooded the shafts. The building's property management company is working to begin repair efforts. "Car 2" was lifted above the water and hoped to be repaired, with replacement parts installed, by the end of January 27. Hamilton Fire Chief Dave Cunliffe said that at approximately 10:16 a.m., emergency dispatchers received reports of people trapped inside the apartment and that firefighters were unable to get to the apartment due to the intensity of the fire.
