Buddy in town this weekend. Two, actually. One’s an old college pal. The other manages a band playing a gig on Saturday. So he hooked us up with tickets. We’re on “the list” as it's called in the biz. He was even kind enough to throw an extra on there for our other buddy. Worlds will be colliding this weekend. Old friends. New friends. Live music. Is there a point to this story? Other than to show you we’re cool enough to have friends with “list” power? No. But that’s what weekends are for. But they’re hidden in fog, mixed in the background. The theme song isn’t an anthem this season. It’s a warning sign, a caution flag, a soundtrack for suffering in paradise. The Monkey. The sauce. Sour cream, chopped dill (heaping pile of it), parsley, lemon juice/zest, salt, pepper—bang. Slice open the steaming potato, spread the sauce, top with salmon. Chomp.
